Chicago Police Gear Up For Riots

The Chicago police department is gearing up ahead of the Bio 2006 convention.

(Chicago Tribune)The four-day BIO 2006 conference is the world's largest gathering of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, scientists and politicians involved with biological and genetic engineering in industries such as agriculture and health care.

The Chicago Police Department's security preparations include the FBI and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Police on horseback, bicycles, in boats and most likely in riot gear will blanket the convention center area and also will be ready to respond to demonstrators if they become unruly in the Loop, police officials said.
