Whose Eyes Were Opened More By A President Obama?

Just having my coffee and watching a little morning Joe, and they were just talking about how this is a historic day because, among other things, the first black American has become President. They made the point that this changes how every black child or parent looks at what they can do in life now. I would agree on both points, but, I would also add that this changes the way white Americans think as much as black Americans think.

If we look at things only by the numbers, black Americans could not alone vote in a black candidate. So who is the one that didn't think a black American could be President? I would say, President Obama has changed the way white America thinks more than the way black America thinks. He may have made black America more proud and confident then they were a year ago or 10 years ago, but he isn't the first black that woke up one day and said I want to be President of The United States, and he certainly won't be the last. I guarantee, that there were as many white Americans, right or wrong, who woke up one Wednesday morning in November 2008 and said, he actually did it?

So let's forget the color of my skin, your skin and President Obama's skin, and let's worry about the colors that matters in America right now, red, white and blue! We need people of all colors, backgrounds and status to come together and fix the huge issues that are ahead for our Country.

al Qaida #2 Just More Blah Blah Blah

This election must have been tough for the brain trust of al Qaida to spin. But, they have put their collective heads together and come out with one. They are really stretching here.

Al-Zawahiri can be heard saying, "In you and in Colin Powell, [Condoleezza] Rice and your likes, the words of Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning 'house Negroes' are confirmed."
You know your message is in trouble when you resort to "house negro".

Why Ralph Nader Doesn't Matter

Well, when I am on the side of FOX News, that usually doesn't bode well for him. And I have said it before, Shep is too classy for fox.

Camp Hillary Pulling Out All The Rovean Tricks

I really, really can't stomach anymore of the Clinton's and their ways of politics. Three more examples of how they will do ANYTHING to win, even act like the Republicans she blasted over the last 16 years. So instead of doing what is best for the party, she takes the Republican mindset and begins her own little religion and race swiftboating of Obama. Whether it was keeping the "Muslim" lie going, putting out an ad that makes Obama look a little blacker than he is or even Camp Hillary's supporters calling Obama Osama bin Laden on a campaign call.

While this might seem subtle to some, it clearly is an attmept for Camp Hillary to either win or take the whole party down with her. While some say, you have to vote for whom ever the nominee is, because McCain will continue the Iraq war for a 100 years. Hillary hasn't really voted differently then McCain, including her vote to approve the war in Iraq. And for me, Iraq has been the most important issue of this election followed by the economy and then everything else. So if I am left with two nominees who both gave approval to Bush to invade Iraq, I will have to find someone else to vote for. And if Hillary and the super delegates steal this election, I really hope Obama makes a third party run at it.

MSNBC Is Promoting The Race Card

Just a day after Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama agreed to rise above the nonsense, MSNBC spends the first half hour asking race based questions. Let's talk about the issues facing America and not what Robert Johnson said, okay? Thank you!

Rush "The Racist" Limbaugh At It Again

His latest, "Barack, The Magic Negro". If Imus can lose his job because of what he said, how the hell can Rush stay on the radio? How many times does he need to attack Obama because he is black or not black enough? As if somehow Rush is an expert on the black or African-American community. And before anyone says why do I care about this and not Imus? Context, Context and Context. Rush isn't a morning shock jock that interviews strippers and homeless people. He is supposed to be a serious commentator on politics. But what he really is, is a pill popping, racist, conservative bigot that hides behind a microphone. Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, the idols of the right.

Welcome To 2007

While everyone was caught up in Imus, a Georgia high school had it's "FIRST" prom where white and black students attended together. While it's a good thing this is happening, it is 2007, a it's time for Georgia to join the rest of us.

(Orlando Sentinel/AP) "The school is making changes — and they're long overdue," said Aniesha Gipson, who became the county's first solo homecoming queen last fall as it abandoned the practice of crowning separate white and black queens.

Still, traditions die hard. Only about two-thirds of the school's 160 upper-class students purchased tickets for the prom, blacks still easily outnumbered whites at the dance, and many whites still attended their own private party a week earlier.

"Last weekend was more like tradition. It wasn't racist, or prejudice," said Calvin Catom, a white senior who attended both parties. "This weekend is about the whole school getting together and having a party."
It certainly was a tradition, a tradition built on racism.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Is Calling For Thompson To Drop Out

(MJS) If Tommy Thompson's presidential run isn't over, it should be. And this has nothing to do with his relatively light campaign chest. His remarks about Jewish people and tradition Monday revealed him simply to be ill-suited to the presidency.
Thanks for playing. Here are your parting gifts.

I Have Many Jew Friends

While trying to apologize, or excuse his remarks from the other day, Tommy Thompson basically said that he has many Jew friends.

(Politico) Thompson also noted that he had received an award from the Anti-Defamation League and traveled to Israel last year to accept a "Friend of Zion" award from former Prime Ministers Benjamin Netanyahu and Shimon Peres.
When Imus said he has black friends, the people and the media were not happy, and rightfully so. So why is it that Thompson's comments don't generate the same response? If we are going to create a national debate on racism because of something a morning disc jockey said, then shouldn't we hold those running for President to the same standards?

German Army Instructor Fired

The German army instructor who told his trainees, when firing their weapons, to imagine a van full of angry blacks in the Bronx has been fired.

German Army Prepares For Attack From Blacks In The Bronx

While training, some German troops are told to imagine angry blacks in the Bronx while they are firing their weapons. It's nice to see how far the German army has come since WWII.

(AP/CBS) He said the army was investigating the incident, which was recorded in an Internet video, and would probably complete the probe in two to four weeks.

A video of the army instructor telling the soldier to shoot and yell obscenities while thinking of African-Americans in the Bronx aired on German national television Saturday and prompted calls for an apology by the New York City borough's president.

The video shows an instructor and a soldier in camouflage uniforms in a forest. The instructor tells the soldier, "You are in the Bronx. A black van is stopping in front of you. Three African-Americans are getting out and they are insulting your mother in the worst ways. ... Act."

He's Gone. Can We Move On Now?

CBS has joined MSNBC and fired Don Imus today. Well it's a good thing he is off the air, now all the race issues are fixed. Obviously that is tongue and cheek, but if you would have only watched MSNBC over the last few days, you would have thought another Rodney King beating took place.

But this is the part that confuses me. As someone who has grown up listening to R&B and Rap, I know there is no shortage to the degradation of black women in music and in videos. As apparent by the top videos on AOL, and the lyrics to Akon's top hit, "I Wanna Love You", or the album title, "I Wanna Fuck You". Let me make it clear, I don't like or support Imus. In fact, I am glad he got fired. But when Rev. Al Sharpton screams from the mountain tops, while doing little towards the same subject in music, he looks like a hypocrite. Especially because, he too has been accused of racism and foot in mouth disease, yet he has had a second chance. Can't we all just get along?

For the record, I am an Akon fan. I've got him on my iPod.

Quit The Fake Outrage

I am so tired of hearing or seeing Don Imus everywhere I turn. Yes, what he said was moronic, but he is a morning radio talk show host, who is paid to be, moronic. I listen to Stern everyday, and while he has said his fair share of things for people to get mad at, the people complaining are never taken seriously. Why? Because they are complaining about Howard Stern, who is paid to be moronic and silly.

We listen to Howard or Imus(if you are tone deaf) because they say and do "shocking" things(even though Imus forgot the shock a long time ago) . This was not shocking, but just dumb. And people like Al Sharpton only lesson their cause by focusing on things like this instead of things like.

(Chicago Tribune[free reg. req.]) DALLAS -- A remarkable campaign in Texas to right the justice system's wrongs moved forward Monday with a court recommendation that is expected to lead to the exoneration of the 13th person -- and 10th African-American -- based on DNA evidence in Dallas County since 2001.

James Curtis Giles, 53, has spent nearly half of his life, including 10 years in prison and 14 years on the sex offender registry, trying to prove his innocence in a 1982 rape case.
For every step forward serious civil rights leaders make, people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson fight for the media over the "Anna Nicole" of race news.

The Buffoon Known As Ann Coulter

How people still hire her or ask her to speak is beyond me. Her latest attempt to be funny,

“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”
Watch the buffoon make a mockery of herself, and unfortunately Mitt Romney who spoke right before her. Will anyone condemn her with the same intensity that they condemned the bloggers hired by the Edwards campaign? Probably not, they'll say she just put her foot in her mouth and move on.

Nazi T-Shirts STILL Being Found At Wal-Mart

Apparently even Congress can't urge Wal-Mart to do the right thing. Week 15 and the shirts are still on the shelves. Does it really take 15 weeks to pull these shirts off the shelves? That's 105 days after they said they would pull them from their shelves.

KKK Making A Comeback

And they are doing it by using the Republican talking points on immigration. Maybe it's just me, but if I agreed with the KKK, I might re-think my position.

(USA Today) In the past year, the Klan has rallied or distributed fliers in Bloomington, Ind.; Amarillo, Texas; Denison, Iowa; and elsewhere. In each case, the white-supremacist group denounced illegal immigration or targeted communities with growing immigrant populations.

"It surprised me they came," says police Sgt. Randy TenBrink in Amarillo, site of a rally in August by the Texas chapter of the Empire Knights of the KKK. It is the only local KKK rally he knows of in 30 years. "The content of their message surprised me. It was so disjointed."
Congressman Tancredo's message of hate is spreading. I wonder how he feels now that he has the backing of the KKK? I'm sure it's a proud moment.

Congress Tells Wal-Mart To Stop Selling Nazi Shirts

Wow! Congress has sent a letter to Wal-Mart telling them to remove the Nazi t-shirts from their shelves.

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky was today joined by a bi-partisan group of Members of Congress in sending a letter to Wal-Mart CEO H. Lee Scott expressing concern over reports that t-shirts bearing Nazi insignia remain on the shelves of some of its retail outlet locations. In November, Wal-Mart committed to removing the product from its shelves, but reports this week suggested that the retailer had yet to meet that commitment."
Being one of the early birds on this, but definitely not the only one, I actually feel like we accomplished something. On the other hand, should congress really be able to tell companies what types of clothes to sell? This was never about stopping the sale of Nazi-wear, rather about Wal-Mart's hypocrisy. Which later turned into Wal-Mart's failure to follow through on their words.

Speaking of their words, Wal-Mart has responded to the letter from Congress. Much of the same nonsense,
When we heard yesterday that some stores still had some of the shirts in inventory, we reissued the return-to-vendor directive. Our fashion merchandising team will reiterate the issue in their weekly video to stores.
Congrats to Bent Corner for originally breaking this and to The Consumerist for their ongoing coverage of this.

Rush Has Lost His Mind Again

So now Rex Grossman is getting bashed because he is white? No Rush, he is getting bashed because he turns the ball over too much. His four turnovers in the Super Bowl were not a race problem. His "Not prepared" comment for Green Bay was not a race problem. The problem with Rex Grossman is his lack of experience and unprofessional actions. Again, this is something that can change with age.

Rush, stick to making fun of people with diseases, and stay out of sports. Or should I say, stop trying to bring race and your ignorance into sports like you do with your politics. Just because your sorry listeners can rationalize your hate, doesn't mean we all can or want to.

Wal-Mart Watch: Still Going

They're like the Energizer bunny, they keep going, going and going. An employee actually took the time to write "Recall-Can't sell" on the shirt, but left it on the shelf. Why? Are they looking for bad publicity?
