NBC And News Corp To Start Video Service

The YouTube factor has forced the hand of the networks. Instead of dealing with YouTube, NBC and News Corp are going to start their own video service.

(Bloomberg) News Corp. and NBC Universal enlisted partners such as AOL, Yahoo! Inc. and Microsoft Corp., Google's biggest rivals, to help with the venture. The service will start in the U.S. summer and will feature full-length movies and television shows, the companies said today in an e-mailed statement.
I just hope these networks can keep Microsoft from making it a Windows only, or IE, platform like the live streaming video on MSNBC.
