Second Edwards Blogger Resigns

The Bill Donohue tantrum has now forced the second blogger from the Edwards campaign to resign. I don't know where to begin here. Part of me is just tired of Donohue and his attacks on anyone who doesn't agree with his fundamental Christian beliefs. Part of me is pissed that Edwards and his campaign showed no backbone, much in the way the Kerry/Edwards campaign was devoid of any backbone in 2004. While Edwards may have quieted the religious right, whose vote he will never win anyway, he might have again reminded people why he couldn't win the 2004 nomination.

Now, more than ever, we need a candidate who can stand up for themselves and us. One who can say enough is enough. One who doesn't fold to pressure, especially to people like Bill Donohue. One who stands for something. How can I go into a voting booth and pick a candidate who already has shown politics are more important than principle. Like I said before, short of walking on water, Edwards and the Democrats are never going to win the vote of the religious right.

Some food for thought. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2004 there were 217 million people of eligible voting age. Of them, only 122 million people voted.
