Stay The Course = Go Fuck Yourself = Flip Flop

I have been trying to understand, which is my first problem, what the White House could possibly mean by saying they are not "Stay the Course". And the only explanation I could come up with is it means "Go Fuck Yourself" to anyone who criticizes their failures in Iraq. Here is the basic back and forth we are used to hearing at a press conference.

Reporter: Mr. President, Iraq is a mess. What are you going to do to fix it?

President: It's hard work, but we are going to Stay The Course

Reporter: Retired generals say that there aren't enough troops in Iraq to win and the plan is failed.

President: I can't be any clearer, we are going to "Stay the Course"
What you would have heard, if you used your Neo-Con decoder ring, is something like this.
Reporter: Mr. President, Iraq is a mess. What are you going to do to fix it?

President: Who the hell are you? We know what were doing. We don't need any reporter telling us what to do. Go fuck yourself!

Reporter: Retired generals say that there aren't enough troops in Iraq to win and the plan is failed?

President: Retired schmired. They can go fuck themselves too!
And now in an attempt to get a political reach around, they speak of flexibility. Which in 2004 was considered "Flip Flop"!
