Billions Lost Due To Lack Of Oversight

$750 million that was earmarked to help fund the Ministry of Defense in Iraq has been "lost". This is just part of around 2,000 cases totaling $7.5 billion of American hard work lost to corruption. And what does our government say about this?

(CBS)No one in the U.S. government would speak on camera about the case. But U.S. officials say this was Iraqi money spent by a sovereign Iraqi government and therefore is the Iraqis' business.
This reminds me of the days after the military "liberated" Baghdad and Iraqis were rioting and looting and Rumsfeld said
(CNN) April 2003"Freedom's untidy, and free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things," Rumsfeld said. "They're also free to live their lives and do wonderful things. And that's what's going to happen here."

Looting, he added, was not uncommon for countries that experience significant social upheaval. "Stuff happens," Rumsfeld said.
More than three years later and it has only gotten worse and yet Rumsfeld still has his job. I guess stuff really does happens.
