After doing her best NSA impression, HP Chairwoman Patricia Dunn will resign Jan 18.

(CNN)Dunn became the center of a boardroom storm in the last week after revelations that an outside investigator for the company's board may have used illegal methods to spy on some directors as well as reporters as it probed leaks of sensitive company information.

The tactics used during the investigation "went beyond what we understood them to be, and I apologize that they were employed," Dunn said in a statement Tuesday.

And to think that HP was actually respected for it business practices. Imagine what the less respectable companies do to their employees?
