Lieberman Will Run As Independent

In a move that was expected, Joe Lieberman has announced his plans to run as an independent. This morning Lieberman is going around to all the TV shows to promote his values as mainstream and Lamont's as extreme.

(AP)But Lieberman, undaunted, vowed to run as an independent against fellow Democrat Ned Lamont. "For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand," he said of Tuesday's Democratic primary results.
Thanks Uncle Joe! What I find funny about that is Lieberman lost. The Democrats in Connecticut(not the country) said they want Lamont. This mentality is exactly why the voters decided to support someone else. I know some will say this is only about Iraq and Lieberman follows liberal values elsewhere, but apparently so does Lamont. So if the choices are between a Democrat that is pro-Iraq war or a Democrat that is anti-Iraq war(not anti-war), it seems the choice is simple. And if Joe wins as an independent, he will do it with Republican support. Which begs the question, "Who is really out of touch with the Democrats"?

UPDATE: Markos is making a list of Dems who are supporting Lamont.
