Where Was Colin Powell's Courage 3 Years Ago?

Remember When Colin Powell was the talk of the town? He had Republicans and Democrats chomping at the bit hoping to vote for him for President. A man who was moral, intelligent, and knew how to run a military.

And after Bush won the nomination in 2000, Democrats and moderate Republicans felt a little more at ease when Powell was named Sec. Of State. But as we learned early, Bush and Cheney were able to silence Powell as they did others who cautioned and/or disagreed with the idea of invading Iraq.

However since Powell has "left" his position as Sec. Of State, as if to rub salt in the wounds, he has found his voice that we were all looking for 3 years ago. His latest attempt to fix his image stems from GITMO. According to James Bennet, who writes for the Atlantic, Colin Powell says "Guantanamo ought to be closed immediately."
