Pakistan Shuts Down Extremist Radio Stations
The Pakistan government has shut down legal and illegal radio stations.
(Reuters)Pakistan has taken 156 FM radio stations off the air to stop the spread of religious extremism and anti-state sentiments, notably among Pashtun tribes near the Afghan border, a spokesman for the regulator said Wednesday. In America it is called consolidation. Today we have only a handful of companies that own all of the radio stations. Our government allows them to buy up all the stations and then they fire anyone who "questions" or doesn't conform. You know, the Clear Channels of the world. All the more reason to switch to Sirius or XM(Sirius is the better brand).
