Civilian Deaths Or Casualties Of War?
In Iraq I tend to look at civilian deaths in a more sympathetic way because we didn't have a problem with the majority of Iraqi citizens prior to the invasion. Our problem, right or wrong, was with Saddam. However when you look at Israel and Lebanon, I tend to not have the same sympathy for the Lebanese.
John over at Ablog hits the nail on the head with today's bombing in Lebanon. While it is always sad to see children die, their parents and Hezbollah are as, if not more, responsible for those children's deaths as Israel is.
(AP)Israeli said it targeted Qana because it was a base for hundreds of rockets launched at Israeli, including 40 that injured five Israelis on Sunday. Israel said it had warned civilians several days before to leave the village.
"One must understand the Hezbollah is using their own civilian population as human shields," said Israeli Foreign Ministry official Gideon Meir. "The Israeli defense forces dropped leaflets and warned the civilian population to leave the place because the Hezbollah turned it into a war zone."
