Terror Leader Killed In Philippines

Philippine troops killed, Amilhamja Ajijul, a leader of Muslim rebel group Abu Sayyaf. Ajijul, who had a $20,000 bounty on him, was wanted by the U.S. for the bombing of a military base that resulted in the death of an American soldier.

(Reuters)The Abu Sayyaf has links to the regional militant network Jemaah Islamiah and al Qaeda and is blamed for the Philippines' worst terror attack -- the bombing of a ferry near Manila in February 2004 -- that killed more than 100.

The group, which has a membership of around 400 and is on Washington's blacklist of terror organizations, has also kidnapped and beheaded foreign and Filipino tourists and church workers.
