60 Minutes: A Spy Speaks Out

How many more people will have to come out against this Administration for some people to believe that we were mislead(nice word for lied) into war. A war that is seeming to me to be more of a long term plan on China and Russia and the control of oil rather than the spread of democracy.

(CBS) When no weapons of mass destruction surfaced in Iraq, President Bush insisted that all those WMD claims before the war were the result of faulty intelligence. But a former top CIA official, Tyler Drumheller — a 26-year veteran of the agency — has decided to do something CIA officials at his level almost never do: Speak out.
Maybe I am just in left field on this, but when I hear people wondering why their is so much leaking going on, I have to wonder if their is something bigger that we are missing. Something like a crisis with China and Russia. Maybe the terrorists aren't the only ones we want to fight "over there"?

I just feel this tension rising between us and the Russians. With Iran in the immediate crosshairs, we find ourselves being opposed most vocally by Russia. Just lately we find out that Russia has reached an agreement to to sell Iran fuel for their reactor. Which could be a good or bad thing, we don't know yet. We have seen opposition by the U.S. to Russia supplying weapons to Iran.

In some ways I can't blame Russia. What if Russia decided Central America or better yet Venezuela(oil producing country)was funding terrorists in Russia, and decided they needed to invade? Would we let them? Would we feel comfortable that they would again be that close to the U.S. with their military? My guess is probably not, not to mention we would mobilize our military to that region.

Then add to the mess China. Who is coming of age a lot faster than people expected. Add the issues between us and China about their economic practices and the fact that we are un theur backyard too. How do they feel about the rising cost of oil? We worry about how the price of oil will effect us, but how does it effect the rest of the world? How can something like this slow the growth of China?

Again, maybe I am just off on some fantasy, but it just seems like we are missing something here.
