Pyramids Could Lose "Wonder" Status

Egyptians are upset over a new contest to re-name the "Wonders of the World". It is possible that the Pyramids could be left out of the new wonders.

(Seattle Times/AP) Top Egyptian officials have criticized the popular contest that urges people around the world to vote for their top sites from a list of 21 finalists that lumps the pyramids with upstart wonders such as the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower and Peru's Machu Picchu.

While I agree that the Pyramids should be on that list, there have been some amazing engineering feats accomplished and/or discovered since, including the aforementioned Machu Picchu.
