White Dolphin Declared Extinct

A rare white dolphin in China has been declared extinct. This would be the first large aquatic mammal to go extinct in 50 years. How can something that has lasted for 20 million years go extinct you ask?

(AP) For the baiji, the culprit was a degraded habitat — busy ship traffic, which confounds the sonar the dolphin uses to find food, and overfishing and pollution in the Yangtze waters of eastern China, the expedition said.
The Yangtze finless porpoise is facing the same situations tht the baiji did and is on it's way to become extinct too. Apparently it's not just people that China needs to learn how to treat better.
