Aurora, Not All About Child Predators

Several times now in the past couple weeks we have heard and seen Aurora Il in the news because of the Foley scandal and it's relation to Dennis Hastert. It's also part of the district of Rep. Judy Biggert, member of the House ethics panel to investigate Foley. There is more to Aurora than that though.

It is the town where local weather man Tom Skilling and brother, Enron boss Jeff Skilling(bad example), went to high school. It was also the childhood home of the late great L.A. Laker announcer Chick Hearns. It was the setting for Wayne's World, minus the palm trees. And it is the childhood home of Dennis Hastert.

Aurora's nickname, The City of Lights, comes from the fact that Aurora was one of the first cities in the world too use all electric street lighting. It is also the second largest city in Illinois at somewhere around 165,000 residents. On it's east is Naperville, often ranked as the one of best places to live in the country.

So please don't associate Aurora with this scandal.
