Californians Dying From The Heat
At least 56 people have died in California as they have had 10 straight days of 100º heat. This reminds me of 11 years ago here in the Chicagoland area where around 600 people died from heat. I was lifeguarding then while going to school, and it was the hottest I've ever been. The hottest of the 5 days was 106º, which in itself is nowhere near Vegas or Arizona heat, but the humidity made it feel like 115º - 120º. The air was so thick and sticky that you couldn't stay dry, and if you weren't able to be in the A/C or near a pool, you were miserable.
