Bush 41 At Lay's Funeral

Remember Tony Snow describing how the President felt about his "acquaintance" dying? If all you knew and heard was what Snow said, you would think they passed each other at a couple of parties. Which makes this harder to understand

(AP)Former President George Bush and his wife, Barbara, were among the mourners Wednesday at a memorial service of Enron Corp. founder Kenneth Lay.
……
Before Enron crashed, Lay was a highly respected business leader and philanthropist in the nation's fourth-largest city with a powerful circle of friends that included Bush as well as his son, the current president.
Instead of just saying that the President was saddened by the death of Ken Lay, like anyone would feel if a friend died, they spun it so nobody would do Bush/Lay stories in the news. Not to mention that The Smoking Gun has things that say otherwise. Good politics, bad common sense. Which is all we get from the Republicans lately. Lots of tough talk, and lots of bad decisions or no decisions at all.
