Are Americans Just Too Gullible?

Democracy and freedom are hard to achieve, which is why it has taken us so long, and most would say it's still not perfect. Just like anything in life, the easiest way out is to give up and let someone else determine your fate. Good thing for us, our Forefathers didn't give up. So why is it that so many people today are giving in to fear? Fear of the world, fear of dissent and fear of admitting we don't have all the answers. I think this article from Counterpunch does a good job of pointing out why.
