Americans Spends More On The 4th Than Countries On Their Budgets

It's amazing to think that we spend more money for a one day event then a lot of countries spend on their budgets for an entire year.

(Forbes/MSNBC)Few celebrations come cheap. And this year's Fourth of July festivities, complete with burgers, beer and a festive fireworks show, are no exception. In fact, the nation will shell out $2.8 billion on fireworks and cookouts alone this Independence Day.

In comparison, this is what some countries spend in a year

• Afghanistan - $269 million
• Ethiopia - $2.338 billion
• Gaza Strip - $964 million
• Jordan - $2.8 billion
• Iraq War - $254,342,800 billion
  

If we really wanted to, we could really change the world. For those on the religious right who would like to call this socialism, it's what Jesus would do!
