Americans Shine In Europe

Today was a great day for Americans in Europe. Congratulations to Floyd Landis who became the third American to win the Tour de France. He also continued America's position at the top for the eight straight year(Armstrong - 7 Landis - 1). After nearly falling off the map earlier in the week, Landis rode one of most incredible rides in Tour history, only to follow it up with a great individual time trial. After being one of Lance Armstrong's teammates, Landis became the leader of Team Phonak and was one of this years favorites. What makes it even more amazing is that Landis is doing this with one hip. He will need to have a hip replacement surgery to fix it, so this could be the last time he ever rides at this level again.

Congratulations to Tiger Woods who won golf's oldest championship, The British Open. Tiger won by two strokes over Chris DiMarco. Once again Sergio was unable to keep up with Tiger after being paired in the final group. Tiger continues to close in on the Golden Bear, all we need is a lion "Oh My", in the all-time list of record. Tiger now has won 11 majors, which is second to Jack Nicklaus who has won 18. Of all the things Tiger has accomplished in golf, this is the record that he is most driven by. It's all about the majors.
