What It Must Be Like To Have A Transparent Government

With everyone up in arms about the NY Times "Breaking" information about our government following bank accounts, we have heard people calling for arrests and now our Congress is going to waste more time with nothing more than a smoke screen. Just to show how ridiculous this is, I found this from Oct 2002

(HM Treasury)Rapid implementation of new domestic legislation

2.9 Acting under the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2001 and the Al Qa'ida and Taliban (United Nations Measures) Order 2002, the UK has frozen the assets of over 100 organisations and over 200 individuals. A complete and consolidated list of all those whose assets have been frozen is available at the Bank of England website (www.bankofengland.co.uk)

2.10 The Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 provides:

Police powers to seize terrorist cash anywhere in the UK
Police powers to freeze funds at the outset of any investigation
Police powers to monitor accounts which may be used to facilitate terrorism
Tougher obligations on people to report suspicions that funds are destined for terrorism
Under the Terrorism Act 2000, the UK has brought the first conviction for terrorist finance offences.
While this is the U.K., don't you think the terrorists can assume that we are doing this too? Is there anything else they can try to use to distract Americans from the reality of the last 5 1/2 years? They tried gay marriage and lost. They tried flag burning and lost. They beat the immigration drum until they learned they weren't gaining ground, and now they are trying Santorum WMD's and the NY Times are traitors and should be arrested. Nevermind the person who gave them the information.
