Wisconsin School Board Member Wants To Ban Disabled Students

In Baraboo Wisconsin a new member to the school board wants to change the laws to say that the school district is not responsible for teaching "Unteachable" students. He basically says that the school is wasting time with disabled children.

(AP/ABC7)Kevin Bartol says there are some people that cannot be educated. In his words -- "they may have their eyes open, but there's no one awake upstairs."

The school board is reviewing district policies. And, Bartol wants to amend the policy for students with disabilities so that the district is not required to serve a child he says "can't be taught."

But, special ed director Gwynne Peterson says the district not only has a moral and ethical obligation to teach all students, it's required under federal law.
Brings a whole new meaning to "No child left behind"!
