New Cheney Notes In The Leak Case

New notes from Dick Cheney, written on the columns of the June 6, 2003 op-ed by Joe Wilson, was disclosed in a filing by special prosecutor Fitzgerald. His notes don't reflect any interest in the truth of Wilson's findings, rather they reflect Cheney's interest in Wilson's wife and her connection to the trip. Not long after that is when Libby released info to the press.

(Newsweek)In the margins of the op-ed, Cheney jotted out a series of questions that seemed to challenge many of Wilson's assertions as well as the legitimacy of his CIA sponsored trip to Africa: "Have they done this sort of thing before? Send an Amb. [sic] to answer a question? Do we ordinarily send people out pro bono to work for us? Or did his wife send him on a junket?"
You would think somewhere there would be a question like, has anyone else come to this conclusion? But of course we now know that Bush and Cheney knew that there was no truth to their claims about Niger, so why would they wonder if Wilson's statement was true or not!?!
