Naperville To Use Tasers

What has been rated the most stress free city in the country with a population of 100,000 or more, and named the third best place to live in the U.S., will now issue tasers to police officers.

(Daily Herald)The city council voted 6-2 in favor of allowing the officers to use the so-called “less-than-lethal” weapon at Tuesday’s council meeting. Last year, the council agreed to set aside $50,000 to purchase 57 Tasers. Now, police officials can spend the money and will receive another $50,000 next year for 22 more Tasers and accessory cameras for all the devices.
