Iraq Boycotts Arab League Meeting

Iraq has decided to boycott a Arab League meeting in Cairo because of comments made by the President of Egypt. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has angered many Shiites in the Arab world when he said

(Seattlepi.com)Arab Shiites in Iraq and elsewhere are more loyal to Iran than to their home countries.
At first appearance it looks like maybe he is actually trying to help with the crisis in the middle east. However, it might have more to do with the more Westernized Arab world fearing the influence of Iran and now Iraq. Or at the least, it is what this guy is thinking
Lebanon's Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, in an interview with The Associated Press, said "some in the Muslim world" fear Shiite empowerment in any country.

Fadlallah was one of the highest-level Shiite figures in the region to speak out so far against Mubarak. The president's comments over the weekend angered Shiites and raised fears of a Sunni-Shiite rift across the Middle East at a time of increased sectarian violence in Iraq
