Bush: The Don Stays
Today President Bush made a statement of support for "Don".
(MSNBC)"I have seen first-hand how Don relies upon our military commanders in the field and at the Pentagon to make decisions about how best to complete these missions," Bush saidIt's always nice when the President refers to people by their first name. Basically telling everyone else, bite me!
"Secretary Rumsfeld's energetic and steady leadership is exactly what is needed at this critical period," Bush said. "He has my full support and deepest appreciation."
So how does Don feel about these Generals. Six of them now, plus General Shinseki from the early days.
The fact that two or three or four retired people have different views, I respect their views, "Rumsfeld said. "But obviously if, out of thousands and thousands of admirals and generals, if every time two or three people disagreed we changed the secretary of defense of the United States, it would be like a merry-go-round."It's not like these "retired people" were pretend Generals. These Generals lead the fight in Iraq. Donna Brazile made a good point on The Situation Room today, Bush once said that he takes his lead from the people on the ground. So now the people that were on the ground are saying that Don didn't have a clue what he was doing. So when Bush brushes off these calls to remove Don, it's just another time Bush has lied.
