White House Smoke Screen
All this media bashing by the Bush administration, is it going to come back and bite them? For too many years the media has been the voice of the White House. But is it smart for this Administration or Laura Ingraham and the other right wing wackos to challenge the media now? When every poll says how unfavorable the President is. When the President is shown to be pro Arab(port deal). When people in his own party are beginning to question him. I think it is to distract people from the NSA wire taps, Feingold's resolution, that wasn't really blown up like they would have liked, a complete quagmire in Iraq, or how much it costs to live a life worth living with today's costs. Not to mention, where the hell is OBL??I don't know, but it probably isn't good news when a Fox News employee is on the record.......
Rumsfeld and Bush must know that "it's incredibly dangerous and that the media has a very difficult job," said Jerry Burke, executive producer of daytime programming at Fox News Channel. "We have to cover some aspect of the story so we cover what we can cover without getting our anchors and our reporters blown up."
With that said, the Bush Administration has already won. How you say? What is the media talking about today? Chris Matthews today talked about it for the first half of the show. I am sure he is not the only one wasting more media time talking about how life is unfair for the Bush Administration. Maybe the media should just concentrate on news. Wouldn't that be a coup for the people? Maybe if the media would have covered the prewar properly and not aided this Administration with it's invasion of Iraq. Or instead of showing days of footage of some ebay guy who murdered his wife or actors being arrested, they show more footage of how things really are going in Iraq. But they won't do that. Why? No one wants to constantly see violence and bloodshed.
However once again in this process, the voice of the Democrats or any opposition to this White House has been silenced because they have nothing to say worth hearing. Well, except for Sen. Feingold., who is the only one saying anything different then what has been said for years to no avail. If anyone else was saying what Sen. Feingold was saying maybe this Administration wouldn't be able to control the media.
