U.S. And E.U. Don't Accept Results

The U.S. and the E.U. are not excepting the results from Belarus's recent election. Both had said that some actions would be taken if voter fraud or opposition intimidation had happened.

"The United States does not accept the results of the election," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said. "We applaud democrats in Belarus for their courage and peaceful stand to reclaim their freedom," he added. "We support their call for a new election."

The European Union also blasted a vote that was found to have fallen short of international standards by the main Western-led election observation body, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
