Unions And French Government At Odds

A day after the heaviest violence in France over it's First Employment Contract(CPE), the Unions are threatening the Government who, doesn't seemed too worried.

The parliamentary Speaker Jean-Louis Debre on Sunday criticised the union threat strike, saying that an ultimatum to withdraw a law voted in parliament was "an outrage to the Republic and to democracy."
"Today the prime minister is like a pyromaniac who sets fire to the valley and then retreats to the hilltop to watch," Jean-Claude Mailly of Workers' Force (FO) said.
The Bush Administration and big corporations would love a law like this in America.
