Federal Regulation At Chemical Plants

I know it is hard to believe that since 9/11, which was five and a half years ago, this Administration has decided to regulate almost every part of our lives that could get away with, at least the parts of our lives that only broke one constitutional right. Even they have morals, or that's what they tell us. So how do they just now decide it is time to regulate our chemical plants security?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Bush administration called Tuesday for federal regulation of security at chemical plants, but would largely let the industry decide how stiff the protections should be and leave inspections to private auditors.
I think I would put my money on Charlie Brown kicking the football before this Administration gets it right , whether it be Iraq, homeland(which includes ports) security, or even moving this country towards alternative fuel.
