Are Iraqi Documents Real?
Are the documents that were found in Iraq real? The documents our D.O.D. has used to condemn Russia for leaking intel to Iraq prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq? We have been hearing a ton about these documents that show limited conversations between Al Qaida and a Iraqi government official, so are they real? Well the U.S. Central Command doesn't seem to hold the same hope as the rest of the government.
When asked whether the U.S. military would open a investigation to find out if one of there own leaked intel to the Russians, Centcom said....
(The Other WaPo)"Centcom has not opened an investigation at this time," said Capt. Christopher Augustine, a spokesman for the Tampa-based command, which oversees U.S. military operations in the Middle East and other areas.
In e-mailed statements in response to questions, Centcom cast doubt upon the validity of the captured Iraqi documents: "It's important to remember that the information came from an Iraqi intelligence report.
"Central command does not vouch for the document's accuracy or authenticity," the statement said.
People were questioning why it took so long for these documents to come out, one can only wonder.
